For some reason my hot water heater seems to have defected. It hasn’t worked for over a week now and I’m not sure why or when it will be repaired. The handyman told me “Lora, sunshine, a repairman is needed. He might come tomorrow. Or the next day. I don’t know for sure.”
So in the meantime, I’m trying to stay positive. The following are just a few of the reasons not having hot water is a good thing.
- You waste a lot less water when it’s so cold that your head goes numb while you shampoo. Bathing one body part at a time throughout the course of the week definitely doesn’t take as much water as a normal shower.
- If your shower, like mine, doesn’t have a shower curtain, showering can be a little bit messy. So you get a lot less water all over the bathroom when you are washing previously mentioned body parts just once a week.
- You save a lot of time when your showers only last about 45 seconds.
- You save a lot of shampoo and conditioner when you only wash your hair about twice a week.
- It’s invigorating to take a freezing cold shower at 6:45 in the morning. In case you’re sleepy, it really wakes you up.
That’s all I can think of for now. I shouldn’t really complain…at least I have indoor plumbing…I know volunteers who don’t. But still…
ahhhhhh….not only do i love the ‘laura sunshine’ part..the whole post is great. You can find the positive and the humor in everything, and write about it so well! Do hope your water warms up soon, though.
